Dripping Springs and Bee Cave, TX
If you follow me on Instagram you know that my friend Abigail and I do an annual girls weekend road-trip. This year we took it up a notch by partnering with Mazda USA to road-trip in the Mazda MX-5 Miata. It was seriously so cute and equally sporty! Last year we went to San Antonio, so this year we decided to do something different. We knew we wanted to stay in Texas, but we wanted to visit a couple cities with hidden charm that aren’t super busy and there isn’t a lot of traffic. As soon as we started our research and found out we could stay in a teepee we were sold! Our first night of our weekend we stayed at Oeste Boutique Campground which fulfilled a LIFE LONG summer camp dream of staying in a teepee! We got there pretty late and it was so cool to see the stars over the teepee and hear all of the sounds of nature without any city noises. It was like camping, but better! There was a very clean and nice bath house with regular restrooms and nice showers. As soon as we arrived and were getting settled we noticed our king size bed had a heated blanket and we quickly plugged it in so our bed would be warm when we went to sleep! We spent some time outside and loved just enjoying the peace of the night and taking pictures of how awesome the teepee was. Next time we would definitely bring fire wood so we could enjoy the campfire! We both loved how unique the experience was and thought the heated blanket was a game changer. Also the bed was so comfy. We can’t wait to go back! We spent the next day in Dripping Springs starting with brunch and necessary amounts of caffeine at Rolling in Thyme & Dough which we both thought was delicious and highly recommend! Then we explored Dripping Springs for a bit. Neither of us realized before going how much there is to do in and around Dripping Springs, and it felt like we didn’t have enough time. Before we went to our hotel we made a quick stop at Dutchman Family Winery. They have a winery, restaurant, and beautiful area for a picnic. I would definitely recommend spending an afternoon there! The second night of our trip we spent at Sonesta Bee Cave Austin which had been highly recommended to us! It’s a close distance to downtown Austin, but just far enough away to avoid the crazy traffic. We got settled and then quickly changed for dinner. After so much traveling it was convenient and just what we needed to have dinner at our hotel’s restaurant and rooftop lounge Meridian 98 Honestly it did not disappoint. I’m a sucker for restaurants that are farm to fork, but equally obsessed with rooftop lounges so it was the best of both worlds. The drinks, food, and staff were awesome. I would definitely recommend the charcuterie plate and lettuce wraps. All of their cocktails were incredible and super unique. Also 10/10 recommend the chocolate chip cookie skillet! It was unreal… praise hands! Saturday we slept in and then went down to the pool for a bit. We didn’t swim because it was crazy windy, but I would go back just to enjoy the beautiful pool! The weekend was so fun and just what we needed to relax and hang out!
XOXO,
