2024 Ultimate 10-Day Trip to Alaska
Alaska 2022 Ultimate 10 Day Trip: Everything You Need to Know
Visit Choctaw Country: Durant
About a week ago, Amberley and I packed up and left the husbands (and Ryder) behind for a girl’s trip! We loved partnering with Choctaw Country to experience so much and share it with our followers. We headed towards Durant, Oklahoma, about an hour and 15 minutes from my house. We had the best time! In previous visits, I have gone straight to Choctaw Casino and Resort, but we got to experience all there is to do nearby this time.
DFW Airport Hotel / The Westin Dallas Fort Worth Airport
Every time we fly out of the DFW Airport I always think, “Wow this day was so much more stressful than it needed to be. I wish we didn’t have to drive 45 minutes to get the airport.” Add to that parking, sometimes Uber, and by the time we get through security I feel like the day was so overwhelming. However, this was the FIRST time that was not the case. I’m going to be honest when the Westin asked to host us I presumed it would be like other airport hotels, but little did I know... As soon as we talked into the lobby at the Westin Dallas Fort Worth Airport Hotel I knew I had been completely wrong. Right away I could tell how beautiful it was.
5 Tips for Visiting Choctaw Casino and Resorts
My favorite aspect of visiting Choctaw Casinos & Resorts is after multiple visits checking in and getting settled feels so familiar. I love the familiarity of it all! However, at first I felt like there was so much to learn in terms of doing it right and each trip gets better & better as we learn the ins and outs.
5 Tips for Taking the Alaska Railroad to Denali #AlaskabyRail
Growing up in Alaska the Alaska Railroad always had a certain magic about it. At a young age when we would go out on a family fishing trip or camping trip we would drive past one of their trains. As a kid it was easy to dream of how much more fun it would be to see all of the views by train. My first train experience in Alaska was in kindergarten. One of our field trips was a trip on the Alaska Railroad. It was so fun and “the coolest field trip ever.” Since then I have been wanting to see more of Alaska by train and going to Denali had always been a huge bucket-list item for me. We took the Denali Star from Anchorage to Denali in the Adventure Class sponsored by The Alaska Railroad.
10 Things to Do in Denison, TX #DiscoverDenison
When I think of Denison, TX, two words that come to mind are “hidden gem!” There is so much to do, and we enjoyed the perfect combination of fun and relaxation. We stayed at The Cabin With The OK View, and it was BEAUTIFUL! The view was so peaceful, and it felt like we were in our little slice of heaven. We were close to downtown, but just far enough out of town to feel like we were in the country. We had the best time and can’t wait to go back!
The St. Anthony Hotel, A Luxury Collection // San Antonio, TX
As soon as you step into The St. Anthony Hotel you can't help but notice the intricacy and luxury of the features throughout the lobby. It is absolutely breathtaking and as we walked in we both stopped in awe. Our only plan for the weekend included relaxation and adventure. We went into the weekend with a very vague schedule, which if you have traveled with me you know this is very rare.
Dripping Springs and Bee Cave, TX
If you follow me on Instagram you know that my friend Abigail and I do an annual girls weekend road-trip. This year we took it up a notch by partnering with Mazda USA to road-trip in the Mazda MX-5 Miata. It was seriously so cute and equally sporty! Last year we went to San Antonio, so this year we decided to do something different. We knew we wanted to stay in Texas, but we wanted to visit a couple cities with hidden charm that aren’t super busy and there isn’t a lot of traffic.
Broken Bow, Oklahoma
There are few places that I would want to spend a rainy weekend with one of our favorite couples, but honestly Broken Bow is just as fun rain or shine. Fortunately, our weekend was a combination of both. We arrived to our cabin Friday night, and honestly as soon as we saw it I knew it was GOALS 🙌🏻. It was literally stunning, from the high ceilings, to the covered hot tub, closed in porch, and beautiful kitchen. Somehow although so beautiful it also felt so homey.
Lush Resort, Possum Kingdom Lake
The best way to describe Lush Resort is a slice of paradise in an unexpected place. Since moving to Texas I have always heard good things about Possum Kingdom Lake. When we had looked into visiting we had only seen options to camp, but Lush Resort has it all. You can stay at their hotel or RV park. As soon as we drove up we were greeted by the bright colors, and fun/unique buildings. We knew the weekend was going to be the perfect mix of fun and relaxation!
Choctaw Casino and Resort, Durant // Oklahoma
Choctaw Casinos & Resorts— A couple of weeks ago Caleb and I, as well as some of our married besties Emily & Blake, went to Choctaw Casino & Resort in Durant, Oklahoma and it was the perfect place for a weekend away. It was only 1 hour and 15 minutes from Dallas which made the trip so quick. Plus, it was golden hour so the drive was gorgeous! We had the best stay at Choctaw Casino & Resort.
Denison, TX During a Pandemic
After coming out of a season of quarantine I knew when I began to travel again I wanted to make sure I took precautions to keep both myself and others safe. My friend Amberley and I love going on getaways and were so excited to partner with Discover Denison to show off how to enjoy Denison even while social distancing.
Top 10 Must Try Restaurants in Maui, Hawaii
Maui has so much to offer and we enjoyed spending 16 days there in June of 2017, as well as other visits in the past. I could’t quite fit all it has to offer into one post so I’m going to split it up into multiple posts. Each one of the restaurants I’m going to share is amazing for a unique reason. These are a combination of my favorite places from my past two trips!
Villa del Palmar Beach Resort // Cabo San Lucas
First off, I am so excited to begin sharing more of my travels with you. As my first blog post I wanted to share one of our most recent vacations with y'all which sadly was 6 months ago? Teacher life am I right??
